Teeth Whitening Treatments

Teeth whitening is a safe, comfortable way to get a bright, white smile. Results and treatment time may vary depending on the level of staining and whitening desired. Crowns, bridges, fillings and veneers are not ways to whiten teeth. Therefore it is important that you speak with our dentist about options that provide effective results and are great for you. We recommend visiting our dentist for a pre-whitening consult and will be glad to help you schedule an appointment at your convenience. Call our office at 281-778-5330 to make an appointment today!

Laser Teeth Whitening

Laser teeth whitening is administered in a dental office exclusively, and is the most expensive method for whitening. All forms of teeth whitening work by releasing oxygen ions from a tooth whitening gel, which gently lift stains from the teeth. The laser simply lifts the stains faster. Another advantage of the laser is that (depending on the type of laser used) it can more easily be used to bleach one tooth at a time. This is helpful when one tooth is more discolored than the surrounding teeth.

Take Home Trays

Take-home whitening trays are a type of teeth whitening procedure that you can perform at the comfort of your home. This is an easy and cost-effective teeth whitening treatment that can be easily obtained. You must follow the instructions given by our dentist to see the results at home. Although they can be a convenient option, obtaining great results can take longer than other treatments and they don’t always work well for deep stains. These trays are custom made to go over your teeth and whiten your teeth through a special gel that is found on the inside of the trays.

These trays, once made for you, can then be taken home as a teeth whitening kit, along with the guidelines given by our dentist. The time period that they must remain on your teeth can vary according to your teeth whitening needs.

Zoom!

Zoom is a bleaching process widely used to lighten discoloration of enamel and dentin. Tooth discoloration may result from drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine, or from smoking. The aging process also can stain and darken your teeth. The Zoom in-office tooth whitening procedure uses the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp – to accelerate the bleaching process – to activate the 25 percent hydrogen peroxide whitening gel. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to bleach the stained substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged.
